New pathway connects popular play areas in Yate
Residents of Yate, South Gloucestershire, are already making use of a newly created pathway linking Brinsham Park play area with the Ladden Garden Village Play Trail, thanks to a donation from our Chipping Sodbury quarry.
We were pleased to support the project by donating 30 tonnes of stone to help create the route, which has quickly become a popular feature for children and families, providing easier and safer access between the two local play areas.
“Yate Town Council is very grateful to Heidelberg Materials’ Chipping Sodbury quarry for once again supporting a community initiative with the generous donation of stone,” said Cllr John Ford.
“Allowing easy access to the woods, it has immediately become a favourite feature for children and families.”
To celebrate the creation of the new pathway, Yate Town Council also hosted a community event to sow wildflower seeds along the sides of the path to help increase biodiversity and create vibrant new habitats.
Assistant Quarry Manager, George Benstead, who was present to mark the completion of the path, said: “At Heidelberg Materials, we’re committed to supporting local projects that connect communities, support active travel and improve access to green spaces.”
