Horton hosts mothers’ group visit

 Principal geologist John Peate hosted a visit to Horton quarry in North Yorkshire for a group of Asian mothers whose children attend Frizinghall Primary School in Bradford.The visit was part of the “Ingleborough for all” outreach project to engage disadvantaged groups with the countryside.

“Ingleborough for all” has been developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership and is part of “Stories in Stone”, an ambitious four-year programme of lottery-funded conservation and community projects in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, co-ordinated by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust& (YDMT).

Judy Rogers from the YDMT, who organised the visit, said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and Heidelberg Materials made it very accessible and informative.”
