Tytherington quarry funds life-saving defibrillator

Residents of The Slad, near Tytherington now have quicker access to life-saving equipment, thanks to the installation of a new defibrillator funded by our Tytherington quarry.

The defibrillator is located on Itchington Road and is available for public access 24/7.

It was delivered in response to feedback raised at the site’s regular community liaison group and is now fully registered with The Circuit, the national defibrillator network that maps the location of AEDs across the UK.

Defibrillators are designed to provide immediate assistance in an emergency, as quick access to a defibrillator can more than double the chances of a person’s survival in the event of cardiac arrest.

Keith Spooner, resident and liaison group representative, said: “We’re grateful to Tytherington quarry for its donation, it’s reassuring to know that the defibrillator is now available in our local area should we need it.”

Esther Hardy, Unit Manager, added: “We’re pleased to support our near neighbours and contribute to the wellbeing of our community through the installation of this life-saving equipment.”
