Tytherington quarry helps create calming outdoor space for St Helen’s pupils

Our Tytherington quarry has supported St Helen’s CE Primary School in Alveston with the creation of its new sensory garden.

The garden was created to enhance the children’s learning environment and to increase biodiversity, and was unveiled at the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

We donated four tonnes of stone to surround a mature tree in the centre of the garden, creating access to a new seating area.

Along with our donation of materials, the school received a grant and support from other local organisations towards the landscaping and benches.

“We’re very grateful to Tytherington quarry for its donation to our new garden,” said Emma Gordon, PTFA Chair.

“It offers a calm, inclusive place for rest and reflection, and the children are delighted to have a space for outdoor learning.”

Esther Hardy, Unit Manager at Tytherington quarry added: “We were glad to help St Helen’s celebrate its special anniversary with something the pupils will enjoys for years to come.”
