Whatley quarry funds life-saving defibrillator

Great Elm residents now have quicker access to life-saving equipment, thanks to the installation of a new defibrillator funded by our Whatley quarry, along with community donations.

The defibrillator is located on the wall outside Great Elm Village Hall and is available for public access 24/7.

Gemma Brooking, Great Elm PPC admin, said: “We’re grateful for all the donations, including the generous donation from Whatley quarry. The local community now has peace of mind knowing that a defibrillator can be accessed quickly and easily in an emergency.”

Kyle Smith, Unit Manager at Whatley quarry, said: “We’re pleased to support this important cause, as quick access to a defib can more than double the chances of a person’s survival in the event of cardiac arrest.”

The defibrillator is also registered with The Circuit, the national defibrillator network that maps the location of AEDs across the UK.
